Our Life Changing Story!

In 2016 we decided to take a cruise around the Caribbean and discover an island that we loved.

Antigua came up trumps! Over the next few years, we returned many times to learn the ways of the island and how to live outside of an all-inclusive resort.

We eventually purchased land and built our forever home.

However, to do this we had to sell everything we owned in England! So, in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic our contractor’s broke ground and started to build our home.

Later that year we packed all that we owned into a shipping container and put it on a cargo ship along with our cars and waved it goodbye.

We followed on a week later being the last plane to leave Gatwick Airport in the UK due to a covid no movement ban.

We rented a house in the village and moved into our partially finished house on Christmas Eve 2020.

We ran low on funds in the middle of April 2021 and had to lose the help of the builders. However this did not deter us. We continued to work on the house just the two of us, with a little hired help, for the next four years.

After nearly a year of living in Antigua we were persuaded to adopt an Antiguan street dog!

Tyber came to live with us; he was recovering from being very badly mistreated and it took him six months to gain our trust.

Our training sessions were long and very hard but now we would not be without him.

He is a loyal, loving dog that protects our home with great enthusiasm.

Six months later, we found Sadie in our village resembling a bag of bones.

We had to gain her trust, with lots of food. It took a period of five days before she would let us even touch her and take her to the vets.

Now she never leaves our sides and has become Tyber’s deputy, warning the sheriff if anything needs investigation.

They both are very friendly dogs and have the run of our property. They love to meet new people.
